Stay, meet and enjoy … where history was written
Cecilienhof was the last castle built by the House of Hohenzollern. It was erected between 1914 and 1917 in accordance with the wishes of the Emperor’s son Wilhelm von Preussen and Princess Cecilie in the half-timbered style of an English country manor.
Cecilienhof attained world recognition as the site chosen for the negotiations of the victorious allies in the summer of 1945. Truman, Churchill and Stalin negotiated the ‘Potsdam Agreement’ right here.
The historic conference rooms and private chambers of the royal couple are open for viewing. These castle grounds, picturesquely nestled in the ‘Neuer Garten’ park landscape on the Jungfernsee in Potsdam have remained a favoured venue for distinguished guests.
