Haus am Berg is a small, family-run hotel in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. The nearby National Park and the Czech Šumava National Park form a continuous cross-border nature park, which has been awarded Unesco Biosphere Nature Reserve status.
The cosy 16-room hotel is situated on a quiet hillside location with a magnificent view of the Regen river valley and the mountains beyond. Thanks to Haus am Berg's small size, flexible solutions to your individual or group wishes are possible. Due to their experience in major hotel-chains the Anglo-Dutch owners know what international travellers expect.
Built in keeping with local style, Haus am Berg is nevertheless a hotel that offers modern amenities such as wireless and wired Internet and satellite TV. If you wish, you can enjoy a halfpension dinner with choice of maincourse (international cuisine) in the restaurant or on the roofed terrace with stunning views. Thursdays our restaurant is closed. A traditional Bavarian "Gasthof" is located only 200 yards from the hotel.
The Bavarian Forest offers excellent possibillities for all seasons: whether hiking, biking, motorcycling, ski-ing or otherwise, there is something to do for all ages regardless of temperature and weather.
The beautiful old city of the regional capital Regensburg has recently been awarded Unesco World Heritage status, and several other, smaller towns in the area merit a visit. The Bavarian Forest is also renowned for its glass and crystal.

By Car :
- Motorway A3, exit nr 106 (Cham-Mitterfels), towards Bad Kötzting. In Bad Kötzting towards Lam. 1,5 km (1 mile) before Lam to the left -Osserbad/Frahels. After the bridge left again at the roundabout. Drive through Frahelsbrück up the slope to Frahels, at the top of the slope you will find our parking on your right hand side.
By Train:
- Take the Oberpfalzbahn from Cham or Bad Kötzting to Lam. Get off at the next to last stop, Frahelsbrück. This is a stop at request, please do not forget to press the button. We will be waiting to pick you up if you let us know your arrival time before you begin your journey (0049-9943-1760).
