The Duke of Marlborough has been refreshing rascals and reprobates since 1827 and holds New Zealands first liquor licence. The Duke is located on the waterfront in Russell in the stunning Bay of Islands. There are three levels of accommodation - our newly refurbished waterfront rooms, bigger family rooms and our convenient standard rooms. From Auckland, 3hrs, take highway 1 north to Whangarei, continue north to Kawakawa, then direction Bay of Islands/Russell/Paihia. At Kawakawa junction, take direction Russell, then at Opua, turn right to car ferry. Russell is 10mn after ferry landing. Alternatively, choose scenic old Russell road, 20km after Whangarei on the right after BP station.
