“Alla Posta dei Donini Resort&SPA” was the 1700 Summer age residence of Donini Family Earls coming from the Italian region Veneto who then moved out to Umbria region to manage silk worm to produce silk since this land was full of mulberries trees. They ended to produce a very special kind of silk.
This age residence, made a new opening in August 2001. It is located in the green heart of Umbria, in San Martino del Colle, few miles away from Perugia. It is a pure symbiosis between nature and art. It is an oasis surrounded by an evergreen environment, dipped in a botanical park large 22.000 mq full of romantic small paths where stands out an unusual Ginko Biloba, majestic live oaks, scented flowers and bushes of roses.
“Alla Posta dei Donini” was completely renovated and enlarged; it is composed of two villas: Villa Costanza and Villa Laura., each of them with special characteristics and linked together internally.
A small chapel dated back to 1700 is open to visit and it offers magic moments.
This age residence is composed of 48 rooms, of different kinds, some of them are with frescos on the walls and ceilings and some others with poster beds. All these rooms are set up with elegance, style and all comforts also for disabled people.
The setting is very elegant, embellished with original frescos of the famous “Scuola del Perugino”.
